Family's tribute to `lovely' Allan

From the Echo, first published Tuesday 21st Oct 2003.

A DEVASTATED family is mourning the sudden death of a former Poole Grammar School pupil in Argentina.

Allan Brown, just 34, died immediately after suffering a heart attack at the home he shared with his partner in Buenos Aires.

Now his mother, Christine, is keen to ensure his many friends are aware of his funeral, to be held at Poole Crematorium tomorrow.

And she has urged them to attend to celebrate the life of Allan, a former school athlete and rugby player.

Mrs Brown, who lives at Beaconsfield Road, Parkstone, is uncertain of the exact cause of her son's heart attack.

But she said he had been taken ill weeks before the fatal attack and had been working under a lot of stress as he and his partner struggled to set up their own translating business.

"He was a lovely person and this is something you dread happening as a mother," said Christine, who has three other children, Richard, 37, Evelyne, 35 and 28-year-old Becky.

"It is a horrendous loss but we aim to celebrate Allan's life."

Allan moved to Argentina with his partner, Karina, after spells in Brazil and Portugal. They aimed to set up in business and eventually move to Spain.

Allan attended Poole Grammar School where he excelled in sport before leaving to do a degree in Wolverhampton. He also studied in Cardiff and Cambridge before training to teach English as a foreign language. One of his places of work was Anglo-Continental in Bournemouth.

Mrs Brown, divorced from the father of her children, John, said friends and family members are travelling from all over the world for the funeral service.

Allan's body was brought back to England by Karina, who has since returned to Argentina.

The service will be held at Poole Crematorium at 3pm. Inquiries and flowers to Co-operative Funeral Service, 366, Ringwood Road, Parkstone, Poole' on 01202 743158.
