£MILLION UP IN SMOKE

From the Echo, first published Saturday 18th Oct 2003.

THIS is all that is left of a house involved in one of the most dramatic blazes Bournemouth has seen in recent times.

The property in St Anthony's Road, which is estimated to be worth £1 million, was set alight on Thursday night.

More than 100 firefighters from Hampshire and Dorset battled throughout the evening and early on Friday morning to bring the blaze under control.

Owner Peter Hamilton-Harvey and his family were inside as flames tore through the mansion. His father remains in a critical condition in intensive care and his mother and brother are also being treated in hospital.

Mr Hamilton-Harvey spoke on Friday about how he and his family were dramatically rescued.
