Midnight

From the Echo, first published Thursday 16th Oct 2003.

Wilson's the only children's author who can pen such a sad-happy (though a tadge over-elaborate) tale about a girl who loves fairies and make it tantalisingly realistic. Lonely Violet dotes on her controlling brother, Will, who behaves more cruelly after discovering he's adopted.

Then a new girl joins the school. Violet and Jasmine's friendship blossoms until Jasmine meets moody Will, leaving Violet to wilt. To whom can she turn with her problem? She sets off alone to find Casper Dream, her favourite children's author. Wilson's mine. (So don't answer the door, Jacqueline).
