Third novel in (Sharpe) author Cornwell's compelling Holy Grail series. It's 1347 (teenagers' wake-up time) and Thomas is sent off with the archers (not you, Joe Grundy) to track the sacred relic, waging war against his enemy cousin. But the hunter becomes hunted so Thomas and a girl, condemned to burn as a heretic, carry on the quest alone. Luckily, the lass learns to use a crossbow. So it's "Bernie... the bolt".
