CHERRIES star Derek Holmes could be sidelined for around six weeks after being struck down by a knee injury.
Holmes limped out of Cherries 2-0 defeat at Yeovil on Tuesday after jarring his knee when he fell awkwardly.
And the Scotsman discovered yesterday following a scan at Poole Hospital that he had suffered a torn cartilage.
Holmes, who celebrates his 25th birthday on Saturday, could even go under the surgeon's knife to have an operation over the weekend.
