Will you strip for WI ads?

From the Echo, first published Wednesday 15th Oct 2003.

DO YOU have what it takes to follow in the footsteps of the WI calendar girls and bare all in a new ad campaign?

WI Country Markets wants local women of all ages to go the Full Monty in new adverts promoting home-grown organic foods and natural goods.

It follows the success of the film Calendar Girls, about a group of WI members who took off their clothes for charity.

One of the company's first adverts will be a spoof of the "Hello Boys" Wonderbra advert featuring Eva Herzigova, to be called "Hello Men".

Originally part of the WI, but now a flourishing business in its own right, the firm runs the weekly Friday market in Fordingbridge offering fresh produce and home-made crafts.

It promises a tasteful but fun campaign celebrating the strengths of local WI women.

Chairman Patricia Van Zyl said: "We are often perceived as older and a bit bossy, but we're not past our `best before' date.

"We want to show that we can be attractive in a number of ways and that we've also got a sense of humour."

Anyone interested in being a model can call WI Country Markets on 01246 261508 or download an entry form from www.wicountrymarkets.co.uk.
